Fire Damage Restoration to a Manufacturing Unit

A major UK development, manufacturing and distribution company supplying high quality products to the UK and world agricultural market contacted National Home Repairs after a fire broke out.

The Cause of the Problem

The light panels located above the spray booth were magnified by the sun, causing paint tins to explode and catch fire. Although the fire was contained, smoke residue had covered the whole factory, including all items of stock.

What We Did

National Home Repairs were called in to visit the property the day after the fire had broken out, by the NFU loss adjuster. On conducting our survey, we deployed a specialist team of qualified fire damage technicians the same day.

It was important to minimise any loss to the Company, so working with the management and loss adjuster, a business continuity plan was put in place to maintain the working environment, and we managed to keep the company in operation whilst all the cleaning work was undertaken.

This involved using a 3 zone clearing process by our specialists, no agency staff, who succeeded in cleaning all of the stock, saving 100% of the stock inventory. This whole process took 8 days to complete, and the roof was refitted within 3 weeks of the fire breaking out.

The Outcome

Working closely with the loss adjuster and management of the company, no business interruption occurred and staff turned up the day after the fire for work as normal.
