Filing a fire damage insurance claim

What should you do when you have discovered a fire?

Call the fire emergency services immediately! The sooner a fire is extinguished the less damage your home will suffer.

Next contact the National Home Repairs’ friendly Claims Team on 0844 906 0060, and we will arrange for one of our qualified loss assessors to visit the property as soon as possible. We will assess the full extent of the fire damage and provide you with advice on how you can prevent additional smoke damage to your property.

Then call your insurance company to file your fire damage insurance claim, so that repair work can begin at your property.

National Home Repairs will submit a preliminary report to your insurance company straight away. Our team of experts will then meet with your insurance company’s appointed representative (usually a loss adjuster who is appointed to look after the insurance company’s interests) to agree on the levels of fire damage restoration to be completed.

National Home Repairs will manage your project so that works are carried out as quickly as possible, reducing the stress of home repair whilst keeping you informed of progress every step of the way.

Take photographs!

Take as many photographs of the fire damage as you possibly can; it is really important to document the full extent of the damages that have been caused for your insurance claim.
