2013 Floods on the North Norfolk Coast

Article posted on 24 February 2014

Cause -

National Home Repairs are still helping a series of holiday let properties situated on the Norfolk Coast that were affected by the 2013 flooding. Water made its way through a row of 6 properties and a double garage destroying the contents on its way. To make matters worse, the policyholder was made aware of the devastating findings by their neighbour. At this point the policyholder informed their insurance company.

Through desperation the policyholder searched for a property management and maintenance company and found National Home Repairs who came to the rescue and promptly visited the property to conduct a site survey to evaluate the extent of the damage. It was apparent at the first instance on entering the property that there had been a level of water which reached 5ft high causing extreme damage to curtains, flooring, walls, doors, kitchen units, bathroom suites and contents including laundry.

Outcome -

At the time of surveying the damage there were reports of repeating high tides and windy conditions which in turn would lead to further property damage, however this did not materialise and National Home Repairs issued a full survey, report and re-instatement programme. Within 48 hours authorisation was received from the insurance company. National Home Repairs' professional restoration technicians were on site at 8am the following morning to proceed with the removal of restorable contents and disposed of the items which were beyond economical repair.

At National Home Repairs we have a full understanding of how soul destroying, upsetting and devastating these circumstances can be. Our professional trained technicians treat every situation with a caring and sympathetic attitude together with full care and attention.
