Prepare your property for flooding

Article posted on 08 December 2013

With UK weather forecasts looking gloomy for coastal regions, its important to make sure you are prepared for what is believed to be severe tidal flooding. If you know your property is in an area that could flood, buy protection equipment and prepare your property well in advance to reduce the risk of flood water getting inside. Remove flood protection equipment once the water has gone to help dry out your property.

The Environment Agency have provided a guide to help assist you and protect your property and personal possessions. The guide advises on how to keep groundwater out, reduce flood damage, protect your floors and basements and advice on foul drainage.
