Case Studies - Flood damage on the North Norfolk Coast

Cause -

A property based on the Norfolk Coast became a victim of the December 2013 flooding crisis and was extremely water damaged throughout, even though the property was on 8ft high stilts water still managed to rise over the stilts where 18” of water entered the property. The policyholder contacted his insurance company whereby National Home Repairs were contacted and asked to attend and advise on a drying and re-instatement programme.

Outcome -

With a prompt reaction we were able to report back to the insurers with the findings and authorisation was granted to proceed with the work. Contents were removed and stored safely with a full inventory of each item in preparation for professional restoration, the strip out process began with removing carpets, flooring, skirting boards, damaged furnishings etc to aid an effective drying programme and professional drying equipment was installed.

Following a successful drying programme builders, plumbers, carpenters, decorators, joiners, kitchen manufacturers/fitters and roofing specialists followed suit to ensure a satisfactory re-instatement project was complete and concluded with an extremely happy and grateful policyholder.
