Cause -
We had a call from a distressed shop owner who had water coming through her ceiling when she opened up on a Saturday morning. There had been a leak from the bathroom in the flat above, the letting agents arranged for a plumber to fix the leak and we followed within an hour with one of our emergency teams to start the clear up and drying process.
Outcome -
We handled the claim for both the shop and flat above, there was considerable pressure from both parties to get the claim agreed and properties reinstated as the shop needed to by open again by the beginning of November for the Christmas trade and the landlord of the flat above had a tenant wishing to move in the 1st November. The incident happened on 28th October and working with our expert team the flat was ready for its tenants on 1st November and the shop reopened on the 8th November.
